IDEAL TREATMENT SOLUTIONS
In Japan, a "natural cure" is often sought for diseases, whereas in the United States, diseases are considered something "to be cured" through comprehensive care and prevention.
As such, it is important for Japan to reconsider its medical culture and views on health, which are often 10 years behind those of other medically advanced countries.
Examining this issue in more detail, a "cure" should not be limited to simply treating the symptoms of disease, as is most often the case in Japanese dentistry, but should also include removing the underlying causes of disease and proper preventative care if we are to consider the treatment to be an actual "cure" in its truest sense.
For example, the industry standard practice of simply filing down a decayed tooth and filling it in with cheap materials cannot be considered an actual cure when the tooth once again becomes decayed or requires it to be pulled eventually.
The use of artificial teeth are often compared to wearing glasses. However, corrective lenses are never considered a holistic treatment curing the cause of disease, but are merely an aid to help alleviate the symptoms rather than serve as a full-fledged cure.
Similarly, the use of artificial teeth in and of themselves is not a true "treatment" for the underlying disease, but is rather only an aid to help in the ability to chew food or serve cosmetic purposes and must be used in conjunction with an overall treatment plan that helps ensure new problems do not arise after treatment.
QUALITY TEETH RESTORATION AND TREATMENT
The metal and plastic materials used in the treatments covered by Japanese health insurance are susceptible to corrosion and serve as reservoirs for bacteria and plaque, which can lead to teeth discoloring and introduce additional dental problems.
Conversely, the use of non-metals such as ceramics look more natural and do not corrode or become stained with bacteria. Therefore, treatments utilizing the proper materials and techniques can help prevent further problems and allow a patient's teeth and gums to remain healthy and ensure their long-term viability.
In particular, the hardened silver covered by health insurance and used in many dental treatments has a tendency to chip and crack the corresponding tooth above or below it, and can lead to the damage of other teeth that needs to be treated as well.
On the other hand, even carefully chosen ceramics can chip surrounding teeth if special care is not taken to ensure that the teeth are aligned properly.
As such, the ideal treatment combines the careful selection of the proper materials along with the precise positioning of teeth adapted to each patient's unique situation.
This is the only way to ensure treatment that is capable of maintaining good health and prevents future complications from arising.
At the Misaki Dental Clinic, we create the ideal treatment for each patient to provide the most thorough and high level restorative and dental care to ensure the utmost satisfaction.
Our patients immediately realize the difference from standard treatments covered by health insurance, resulting in higher levels of dental health and hygiene.
We have a number of treatment examples for your reference so that you can witness this difference for yourself by coming in for a free consultation.
THE VALUE OF THOROUGH CHECK-UPS
Regular and thorough check-ups help ensure that teeth that have been treated will not need additional treatment in the future.
It is important to remain skeptical of traditional dental treatments that only tentatively deal with problematic areas rather than proactively going in and ensuring a proper foundation for ideal dental hygiene and health.
It is common to see dentists and patients that simply repeat the pattern of superficially treating problem areas and only doing the bare minimum, thereby forcing patients into a continual cycle of escalating treatments and costs.
After studying under Dr. Morton Amsterdam and his 50 years of clinical experience, as well as Dr. Masahide Tutsi, who is an authority on comprehensive dental treatments, and combined with my own clinical experience, I have come to realize the necessity of treatment which is thorough and helps prevent additional problems from forming.
As a result of the comprehensive treatment strategy that I have followed for the past 18 years, I have successfully improved the oral health of countless patients, giving them renewed health and confidence.
They have also maintained this level of health and avoided new problems with only a minimal amount of follow-up exams.
This philosophy is especially important when dealing with dental implants. Only after a thorough examination can the best strategy for going forward be determined, through closely evaluating the condition of the surrounding teeth and bones, any diseases that may be present, and various other factors.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE & POST-TREATMENT CARE
Every one to three months after the treatment's completion, we will send a reminder for a follow-up visit.
After spending so much time and money on treatments, it is important to visit the clinic regularly to maintain your dental health, and avoid future problems.
Using the latest professional medical teeth cleaning (PMTC) techniques, we will ensure that your teeth remain free of plaque and tartar, and that you can continue to enjoy your new smile for many years to come.
